Customer service AI for your website, inbox, and site search
Three channels answer from one knowledge base, and every answer names the page it came from.
Website bot
A chat panel on your site, one script tag.
Email agent
Replies drafted for approval, or sent on a switch.
Website search
Hybrid search with an optional short answer.
Website bot, the AI agent on your website
It answers from your pages. Shelly reads your whole website on a daily or weekly schedule and respects your robots.txt, and single pages and pasted text sit beside it for the facts a site never quite states, like where to park. Each page is named from its title or its address, so a source link reads like the page it points to.
A visitor sees a launcher in your color at the bottom right of the page. A tap opens the panel, the answer streams in as it is written, in the language the visitor wrote in, and under it a link names the page it came from. The conversation survives a page change, so a visitor can read the answer, open the page it cites, and come back to ask the next thing.
When the answer is not in your content, it says it does not have that information and offers to have someone from the team follow up. It never invents a price, a time, or a policy: those rules sit above your own instructions and cannot be overridden by them, and text on a crawled page that tries to instruct the agent is treated as data, never as instructions.
You see all of it. Every conversation sits in the Inbox in your dashboard with the pages each answer came from. The agent itself is drafted from a plain description of your business, previewed on your own site through a preview link before it goes live, and loads only on the sites you list.
Where the script tag goes
The install is one script tag, pasted once. The widget draws itself inside a shadow root, so your site's styles and the widget never touch each other, and the bot page shows the sites allowed to load it.
WordPress
The tag goes in the theme header or a header-scripts plugin, with an editor login.
Squarespace
Paste it into Code Injection under Settings and every page carries it.
Wix
Custom Code under Settings takes the tag and loads it on every page.
Shopify
Add it to theme.liquid in the theme editor and the whole storefront picks it up.
Google Tag Manager
The fallback for a site where nobody has the keys: one Custom HTML tag fired on every page.
A site Gray Sand manages
The tag goes in the layout and Dan does it, so there is nothing for you to paste.
Email agent, the AI email assistant for a shared mailbox
Each agent has its own address on agent.shellygpt.com. Give it to customers directly, or set your shared mailbox to forward to it. You keep your mailbox, your password, and your host.
Anything a person wrote gets a draft. Automated mail is skipped with the reason shown in the channel log: bounces, autoreplies, bulk headers, mail from another agent's address, and any sender not on your allowed list when you keep one, by address or by whole domain. Drafts are capped per sender per hour, so a loop between two autoresponders cannot run all night.
It drafts and a person sends. The reply is written from your pages with its source named, and it waits on the Drafts page with one button, Approve and send. Every reply lands in the customer's own thread, from the agent's address, with your BCC list copied so your mailbox holds the sent copy.
Auto-send is a switch per agent, and it starts off. When it is on, a reply still goes out unreviewed only when the sender's domain passed SPF; a message that fails the check is held for a person to review.
Website search, with a short answer above the results
The search box is one script tag too, drawn inside a shadow root, with a placeholder and an accent color you set. It searches the same pages the bot answers from.
Vector and keyword search run together on every query. The vector pass finds "where do I leave my car" when the page says parking; the keyword pass finds Tricare and a street name exactly, which a search by meaning alone misses. A result that only barely matches by meaning and not at all by word is dropped rather than shown.
A short AI answer is a switch. With it on, a visitor can ask for an answer to their query above the results, written only from the pages the search found, with the page linked. With it off, the box is a fast search and nothing more.
Recent searches and the ones that found nothing are listed for you in the dashboard. A search that finds nothing three times this week is a page your site is missing.
How an answer is built
- 01A visitor asksThe question arrives through the widget, the inbox, or the search box. This one came in on a clinic's insurance page.
- 02The right passages are foundVector and keyword search run over the pages together, so a question in plain words still finds the passage that uses the formal one.
- 03The source is pinnedThe passage that carries the answer is marked, and the page it sits on is the page the visitor will be linked to.
- 04The answer is written, with its pageThe model writes only from what was found. When nothing fits, it says it does not have that and offers a follow-up from your team.

Yes, at both offices. Tricare asks for a referral from your primary care doctor before the first visit, so bring it along with your insurance card.

Insurance we accept
We are in network with most major medical plans at both of our offices, and the front desk verifies coverage before every first visit.
We accept Tricare at both offices. Tricare requires a referral from your primary care doctor before your first visit, so please bring the referral and your insurance card with you.
If your plan is not listed here, call the front desk before you book and we will check your coverage the same day.
What escalates to AI Integration
The agents above answer and hand off. They do not act inside your other software.
Booking an appointment, taking an order, taking a payment, and anything else that writes into another system is a different piece of work. That work is AI Integration at Gray Sand Technology, the service that connects an agent to a booking system, a CRM, or a ticket queue, and it is the usual second step once an agent has been answering for a few months. The line is drawn on this page so a sales call does not start with a misunderstanding.
One more limit for anyone searching for an AI receptionist: Shelly does not answer the phone. It works the website, the inbox, and the search box, and a question it cannot answer is one a person at your business answers.
